This year I've made lots of Christmas cards again......however I won't be sending these ones! Instead these are for the Do- Crafts Cancer Research appeal again. I'll be sending bought cards this year...shock horror ;)
I made alot of them with craft supplies given to me by my Aunt who was breast cancer atm. Hoping to make another 20 or so and then that'll be 100 cards I've made of the appeal.
Finally decided to sent up a blog so I can load up my crafting. Got into crafts last year and find it both therapeutic and fun!

Then on Friday it was Iona's birthday, and of course she wanted a handmade card...found it really tricky indeed knowing what to put on it. ...since she was going to be 7 and thinks she is now ever so grown up (lol)!!

Blast from the past!
This week I've spent some time going through old pictures from my childhood and rescued them from yellowing photo album.
Here is my 1st day at school...can't believe I'd white shoes!
Above is a picture of my brother, sister and myself, taken on a summer holiday.
Finally is a photo of us taken when my brother started school and I was starting P7.
I'm glad I was able to rescue the photos and have fun scrapbooking at the same time!

Spent this morning making a couple of cards for upcoming birthdays. Thoroughly enjoyed some crafting time just for me!
As it turns out both cards ended up with butterflies on them, not planned at all!

Chris's birthday card.
Yesterday I finally got around to making Chris's birthday card for tomorrow. It took quite a few attempts as my mind was elsewhere...!
Chris loves music especially playing his concertina, and also walking and being in the countryside, hence my choice of card.

Welcome addition to my stash
Was really pleased yesterday when the postie brought me these pigment inks! A freebie in a magazine giveaway. I like things like this!! Lots of embossing in future me thinks...

pocket card
Had another great crafting day last week with Karen and Alisha. Worked on cards with pockets on the front a great idea for making a card to include tickets or vouchers as a pressie.
Thoroughly enjoyed making this card and using a stamp for a background technique.
Not sure who this card is for yet, but am sure it is one style I'll reuse again and again;)
a few recent crafting times
Here are some tags I made recently. These are just really experimenting with new stamps and different techniques.
A friend was really generous recently and gave a sizzix texture boutique embossing machine. I've had fun making her a thank-you card, and Ioana dn her friend have loved making mother's day cards with it too!

For the first time in many a year ;) I made part of my Mum's mother's day things. I made her card and also decopatched a trinket box too.
I also gave her a fridge magnet I made from a fragment and alcohol inks, but I forgot to take a photo of it...

Tim Holtz day part 2
Here is another photo without the 'modern art' ;)
The middle card used perfect pearls for stamping, and I've added a metal charm which has been embossed with distressed embossing powder for a rusty effect.

Tim Holtz Thursday craft day
On Thursday I went round to Kaz's with Alisha for some crafting from our new Tim Holtz book, 'Compendium of Curiosities'. Kaz's craft room is like a fully stocked craft shop!Tried out lots of techniques including a jet of air and alcohol inks! (Bright 'splodge's' below middle)
This turned out most like modern art, both Luke and Ion thought this was the best one....not sure;)
A great day!

I think I like effect of the mask (top right corner)best, along with the batik embossing (bottom right).
Enjoyed also making the alcohol inks on the fragment.A great day!

heart card for FS.UK challenge blog
Last night whilst reading my dd's devotional bedtime book, it was all about fan mail and suggested writing a letter to Jesus. I told her we could craft this afternoon to make a card to both write a letter in.
Fits in perfectly with this challenge! Made my card and still have to write in it.
Used some of goodies from the Tim Holtz QVC TSV that arrived yesterday ;)

My Christmas mini album.
I've finally finished making this album that Chris gave for Christmas. Will be nice to a way to recall all the snow as well as the Christmas fun we had.
I loved how the album came ready to go, so was easy to make a memory book.

The LOs also gave me a chance to play around with my new collection of stickes!
Strange to see myself sleding AND in a snow globe LOL!
One memory I want to keep of this Chrismas is Iona and her facepaints.......
A weekends crafting 'work'!
At the weekend I ended up making about 20 cards again for the cancer research shops.
I made a selection including some mothers' day ones...still need to make my own Mum's one though..oops!
I made a selection including some mothers' day ones...still need to make my own Mum's one though..oops!
I've used some things free with magazines that aren't quite to my taste.
I've been keen to make these cards as my maternal aunt is in her last stages of treatment for breast cancer.
Chris handed these ones into the shop today. When he picked up the bags he got me about 50! So I've still plenty more to fill.....
